If you want a truly warm wool coat, this is the one from my Quince try-on that stood out for warmth. Here’s how the Wool Cashmere Hooded Wrap Coat fits on my 5’2″ frame, my measurements, and the details from Quince. Quince gifted me this coat, and this post has affiliate links.
The verdict in 30 seconds
What I loved
It’s the warmest and thickest coat I tried, with beautiful quality. It’s long and elegant, and the down bib zips out on milder days.
Keep in mind
On a petite XS frame like mine, it runs roomy. It’s also a heavy coat, and if I’m being really picky, the hood doesn’t lie flat.

How it fits on me
The fabric is a 90% wool, 10% cashmere blend with a full lining, plus a down bib that zips in under the collar when you want extra warmth. It has a nice substantial weight, and it was the warmest coat in my whole try-on, almost as thick as the Wool Cashmere Short Coat.

On my frame it works, but it’s on the roomy side, and I tend to prefer a more fitted coat. Petite sizing or an XXS would be a welcome addition from Quince. If you’re not very petite, the extra room probably won’t stand out to you.
My verdict: if you’re not as petite as I am, this coat is absolutely worth it. The quality is excellent, and real wool and cashmere at this price is hard to find. If you wear an XS or smaller and like a close fit, it may feel roomy on you, like it does on me.
So many coats out there are mostly polyester. If you care about natural fibers, this is where this coat shines.

Watch the full try-on
This coat is the last one in my Quince coats video. I also try on the Wool Cashmere Short Coat, the Featherless Quilted Long Puffer Jacket, a men’s overshirt and the Merino Wool Shirt Jacket I sent back. The hooded wrap coat starts at 9:24.
Is it true to size?
I wore an XS, and at 5’2″ it’s roomy through the body. It still works, but keep that in mind if you like a closer fit. For a petite XS, I’d call it roomy rather than true to size. If you’re average height or wear a small or up, you’ll likely find it fits as intended. Quince’s model is 5’9.5″ and wears a small.
